About Krister Kauppi

Krister Kauppi is the founder of the Rapamycin Longevity Lab, a community-driven research organisation in Gothenburg, Sweden, focused on mTOR inhibitors as the core of longevity combination therapies. Before longevity, he spent years as a senior software developer, including at DB Schenker, and studied at the University of Gothenburg. The lab's mission is to extend rapamycin's legacy by using ultra-high-throughput lifespan assays – capable of running far faster than conventional models – together with AI-driven compound selection to find synergistic interventions beyond single-agent mTOR inhibition. Its work has explored compounds such as the dual PI3K/mTOR inhibitor omipalisib, reported to extend C. elegans lifespan substantially in early experiments. Kauppi works with scientific advisors including Brian Kennedy and researcher Kamil Pabis, and is a co-author on a 2025 GeroScience paper on the bioavailability and blood levels of low-dose rapamycin in real-world cohorts, in collaboration with AgelessRx. He is an active voice in the decentralised-science (DeSci) and longevity communities, advocating combination therapies rather than single interventions to address ageing.
