What is Longevity Bodensee?

Longevity Bodensee is a free community for people around Lake Constance who want more healthy years and prefer evidence to promises. This chapter is regional on purpose rather than tied to one city: Konstanz, Friedrichshafen, Lindau, Überlingen and Meersburg all sit within about an hour of each other, and the lake is what holds them together. Three countries share the shoreline, so an evening in Konstanz can pull in people from Kreuzlingen in Switzerland and Bregenz in Austria without anyone taking a day off work.

Free meetups, expert talks and hands-on workshops make up the calendar, with an outdoor get-together now and then when the weather along the Bodensee-Radweg makes a meeting room look silly. The same subjects keep returning: what an extended blood panel really tells you, how estimates of biological age are calculated, sleep, nutrition, strength training after forty, and VO2max (how much oxygen your body can actually use under load). Biohacking gets discussed too, usually with someone in the room asking to see the study.

We are a community, not a longevity center, a clinic or a paid health club. There is no membership fee and no sales table after the talk. Paid options are hardly scarce around here: Überlingen has drawn people for therapeutic fasting for decades, private practices in Lindau and Konstanz advertise longevity consultations, and personal trainers and medical resorts along the shore use the word as well. Members compare notes on what turned out to be worth the money, and the community Spots map collects the addresses that come up, on all three sides of the border. A listing is not a medical endorsement.

The people who show up are students and researchers from the Universität Konstanz, engineers from the industrial employers around Friedrichshafen where the Zeppelins were built, doctors, and plenty of people who simply want the next decade to feel better than the last. To start, make a free account, join the Bodensee WhatsApp group, or come to the next event. Nobody has to apply.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Longevity Bodensee?+
Longevity Bodensee is a free community for people living around Lake Constance who want to stay healthy for longer and want to see the evidence first. We meet for free meetups, expert talks and workshops covering bloodwork, sleep, training and biological age, and the venue moves between the towns on the shore instead of staying in one place. Anyone can come, from complete beginners to physicians. There is no fee, no membership card, and nobody will try to sell you a package afterwards.
Is Longevity Bodensee a longevity club or a health club?+
A club in the sense of regulars who meet, yes. A health club with a membership card, no. There is no gym floor, no treatment room and no monthly bill here, which is the practical difference from the paid clubs and medical resorts along the shore. What we do have is a calendar of free events that moves between the lakeside towns and a group chat where a question about a lab result usually gets a straight answer the same day. Several paid providers sit on our Spots map.
Is there a longevity center around Lake Constance?+
None that we run. Longevity Bodensee is a free community with no premises, no diagnostics and no programme to buy, so if you are after a longevity center you can walk into, that is not us. The region does have commercial prevention and regeneration centres, several of them around Überlingen and Konstanz, and members talk openly about what a visit actually delivered. Our community Spots map lists labs, studios and longevity-friendly practices without vetting them medically, so the decision stays with you and your doctor.
Where can I find a longevity doctor, clinic or fasting retreat around Lake Constance?+
We cannot refer you to a doctor, because we are a community and not a medical service. The lake region is unusually well supplied here: Überlingen has drawn people for therapeutic fasting for decades, private practices in Lindau and Konstanz advertise longevity consultations and micronutrient work, and the Klinikum Konstanz covers the ordinary hospital side. Ask in the group and somebody has usually been. Our Spots map collects the addresses members mention. A listing means someone found it useful, not that we checked the medicine.
Does Longevity Bodensee offer longevity coaching or personal training?+
No. Nobody in Longevity Bodensee acts as your coach, and there is no training programme, no plan and no paid consultation on offer. Personal trainers around the lake do sell longevity coaching, which is a legitimate business, simply not ours. What the community gives you instead is free talks and workshops where you can put the awkward question directly to a physiologist or a physician, plus members who have already tried the thing you are considering. Our free tools and bilingual guides cover the basics before you spend anything.
What longevity events, meetups and biohacking sessions happen around the Bodensee?+
The Bodensee calendar is built from free meetups, expert talks and hands-on workshops, plus an outdoor get-together whenever the lake weather cooperates. Recurring subjects are bloodwork, sleep, nutrition, strength training, VO2max and how biological age tests are calculated, and biohacking claims get a hearing with the studies on the table. Because the chapter is regional, events rotate between Konstanz, Friedrichshafen and the smaller towns on the shore. Dates appear on this page, in the events feed and in the Bodensee WhatsApp group.
Is Longevity Bodensee free?+
Yes, and it stays that way. Membership costs nothing, almost every event is free, and the chapter runs on volunteers rather than ticket income. If a format ever carries a real cost, a room that charges per head for example, the price is stated on the event page before you sign up. The free biological age test and the bilingual guides are open to anyone, with or without an account. Nobody will ask you for card details, in euros or in francs.
How do I join Longevity Bodensee?+
Three ways, all of them free: create an account here, join the Bodensee WhatsApp group, or turn up at the next event unannounced. There is no application, no interview and no waiting list. The WhatsApp group is where most everyday questions land, and it is also where the next dates get discussed first. If you would rather not add another chat, Instagram and LinkedIn carry the announcements. Travelling in from the Swiss or Austrian shore is normal here, so distance is a poor reason to hold back.
Where can I test my biological age around the Bodensee (DEXA, VO2max, bloodwork)?+
DEXA scans, spiroergometry for VO2max and extended blood panels are available on all three shores, through private practices, sports medicine departments and labs selling direct panels. Prices and rules differ between Germany, Switzerland and Austria, which is worth checking before you book across the border. Our Spots map gathers the places members have actually used, and in the chat people say plainly which panel told them something new. Our free biological age test gives you a rough first reading at no cost.
Which towns around Lake Constance does the chapter cover?+
Konstanz, Friedrichshafen, Lindau, Überlingen and Meersburg are the core, with Radolfzell, Singen and the Thurgau and Vorarlberg shores within easy reach. The chapter was drawn around the lake rather than a city boundary, so events rotate and nobody faces the same trip every time. Ferries and the Seehas and Gürtelbahn trains make that workable: the Konstanz to Meersburg crossing and the ride along the northern shore beat driving around the lake in summer traffic.
Can I take part from Switzerland or Austria?+
Yes. The chapter treats the lake as one region, so members come from Kreuzlingen, Romanshorn and Bregenz as naturally as from Konstanz. Events are usually held in German, and speakers switch to English or summarise as soon as somebody asks, which happens often enough given the international crowd at the university and the larger employers. Your address changes nothing about taking part, and nothing about the price either, since there is none. Differences in lab access across the border come up in conversation fairly often.
Does Longevity Bodensee run lake swims, community runs or sauna meetups?+
Not as fixed dates. The Bodensee mix is currently meetups, talks and workshops, with an outdoor meet now and then rather than a standing run or plunge group. The lake makes both obvious: swimming off the Konstanz shore in summer, a cold dip in winter for those who enjoy that, or a stretch of the Bodensee-Radweg on foot. Formats here start when a member offers to host one, so put your idea in the WhatsApp group and we will help with the organising.
