What is Longevity Raleigh?

Longevity Raleigh is a free, science-based community for people in Raleigh and the Research Triangle who want to stay healthy for longer. The Raleigh chapter of Longevity Cities is in its founding phase. It suits people who like to read the study behind a headline, as well as people who simply want to move more, sleep better and meet others who care.

No meetups have been published yet. The founding group is thinking about settings the area does well: a walk on the Capital Area Greenway, a longer loop on the Neuse River Greenway Trail, a morning at Lake Johnson or in Umstead State Park, or a small evening talk that suits the Triangle's many researchers and biotech professionals. Founding members and co-organizers decide what comes first.

Joining is free: create an account and follow this page, where the first Raleigh meetups will be announced. Longevity Raleigh is a community, not a longevity clinic or a test provider. Here you learn, compare notes on tests and ask the questions you would bring to any expert.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Longevity Raleigh?+
Longevity Raleigh is the Raleigh chapter of Longevity Cities, a free and non-commercial network for healthy aging, currently in its founding phase. It is open to people from Raleigh and the wider Research Triangle who want to learn about sleep, strength, nutrition and stress in a way that respects the evidence. A science or medical job is welcome but not required.
Is there a longevity center or longevity doctor in Raleigh?+
Raleigh and the Triangle have private physicians and wellness centers that offer longevity check-ups, but Longevity Raleigh is not one of them: we are a free community and neither diagnose nor treat. US clinic programs typically run from a few thousand dollars to over 20,000 dollars a year. When comparing offers, ask which tests are guideline-based and which are still experimental.
How do I find out my biological age in Raleigh?+
You have three practical routes: a mail-in epigenetic age test (roughly 200 to 500 dollars), a yearly biomarker blood-testing membership (roughly 350 to 500 dollars), or fitness markers that you can check for free. The site's VO2max calculator, grip-strength test and face-age test give a quick picture. Treat any single number as a snapshot, since different providers use different clocks.
Are there longevity meetups in Raleigh?+
Not yet: Longevity Raleigh has just begun forming and has no events published. The first meetups will be added to the calendar on this page with venue, time and any cost. Follow the page to hear first, and if you have a preference, say so: morning walk, evening talk or casual dinner are all on the table for the first round.
Where can a healthy aging walking or running group meet in Raleigh?+
Raleigh is well served by greenways. The Capital Area Greenway connects parks across town, the Neuse River Greenway Trail offers long, flat miles, and Lake Johnson and Umstead State Park give a quieter, wooded feel. Nothing is scheduled yet, but a first group walk on the Greenway would be easy to reach and easy to join at any fitness level.
Does Longevity Raleigh cost anything to join?+
No, Longevity Raleigh is free to join. A free account is all you need to follow the chapter, and walks on the Greenway would carry no fee. If a future event includes a meal, parking or a ticketed venue, the event page lists the amount before you sign up. The community never charges membership fees or sells products at gatherings.
Where can I find a biohacking community in Raleigh?+
Longevity Raleigh is designed as a free biohacking and healthy-living circle with an evidence filter. The Triangle is home to Research Triangle Park, NC State, Duke and UNC, so many people here are used to asking how a study was done. That makes it a good place to test claims about wearables, sleep and supplements together. Founding members will pick the first topics.
Can I join from Durham, Cary or Chapel Hill?+
Yes, Longevity Raleigh welcomes people from across the Triangle, including Durham, Cary and Chapel Hill. Since the chapter is still forming, the founding group can choose central meeting spots that work for commuters, and each event listing will show the exact address so you can plan the drive.
How can I help build Longevity Raleigh as a founding member?+
Create a free account, follow this page and tell the team how you would like to contribute: co-organizing a first meetup, hosting a talk from your own field, suggesting a greenway meeting point or introducing friends and colleagues. The first Raleigh meetup will be announced on this page once a date and a place are agreed, so early members get a real say.
