Frequently Asked Questions

What is Longevity Shanghai?+
Longevity Shanghai is a free, science based community for people who approach their health with the same ambition and precision this city brings to everything it builds. One of the world's great innovation hubs, Shanghai is where cutting edge research, world class medicine, and a relentless drive to improve intersect. We bring people together through regular meetups, expert talks, and community challenges. Anyone interested in living longer and better is welcome, with no fees and no prior knowledge needed.
Is Longevity Shanghai a longevity club or a health club?+
Think of us as a longevity club in the community sense, not a paid gym or private health club. Membership is free and open to everyone in Shanghai, locals and internationals alike. We are not a clinic and we sell nothing. What you get is a real network of researchers, clinicians, entrepreneurs, and high performers, regular events, and honest, science based information about longevity.
Where can I find longevity doctors, clinics or treatments in Shanghai?+
We are a community, not a medical provider, so we do not offer treatments or run a longevity clinic. Shanghai has world class hospitals, private clinics, and a fast growing scene of longevity doctors and labs, and our members regularly compare notes on who is worth seeing. Come to an event or browse our community Spots map to find longevity friendly practitioners, labs, and gyms across Shanghai.
What longevity events, meetups and biohacking sessions happen in Shanghai?+
Our Shanghai calendar mixes social and educational formats: meetups, morning workouts, expert talks, and biohacking sessions on topics like biological age, VO2max, nutrition, and sleep. Events are free and announced here, in our events feed, and in our Shanghai community channels. If you have searched for longevity or biohacking events in Shanghai, this is where to find them.
Is Longevity Shanghai free?+
Yes. Longevity Shanghai is completely free, and almost all of our events are free too. We believe longevity knowledge and community should not sit behind a paywall, so there is never a membership fee to take part.
How do I join Longevity Shanghai?+
Create a free account, join our Shanghai community group, or simply show up at the next event. All three work, and there is no application or approval step. Following us on Instagram or LinkedIn keeps you posted on new dates.
Where can I test my biological age in Shanghai (DEXA, VO2max, bloodwork)?+
Shanghai has plenty of options for DEXA scans, VO2max testing, and longevity bloodwork across its hospitals, private clinics, and studios, and members often share recommendations and group discounts. Our community Spots map highlights labs, gyms, and studios around the city, and we sometimes organize group testing at events. Ask in the community and you will get honest, first hand pointers.
Are Longevity Shanghai events in English or Chinese?+
Events run primarily in English, which keeps them open to Shanghai's international crowd, and switch into Mandarin depending on who is in the room. The community bridges both worlds: expats and locals comparing notes on labs, gyms, recovery studios, and the science of aging well. Membership is free and open to everyone in the city.
